My sister is a Physician's Assistant in Neurology at Lehigh Valley Hospital. I really trust her and the doctors she works with. Id assume everyone just wanted pain meds ;) And yeah, they gave me a steroid shot in case it was optic neuritis again, but the neurologist seemed pretty confident that it wasn't-- which is good ;) I should have asked for percocet myself while they were giving it out like candy anyway lol. Oh man, some of the drama we saw going on there....hilarious stuff! I swear I had one of those TIA (mini-strokes) about 7 years ago, before I got pregnant with my youngest. I was sitting on the living room floor, eating some dinner at the coffee table while I was watching TV. All of a sudden my whole left side went tingly and I couldn't even hold my fork. I had absolutely no control over the left side of my body and I couldn't even talk. I was freaking out and trying to explain to my then-boyfriend what was going on but the words just wouldn't form. It was totally bizarre and scary. I got so pissed off because I tried talking to the 911 lady and she couldn't understand a word I was saying. Of course they assumed I was on drugs or something, probably because of the neighborhood I was living in, so they didn't take me seriously, didn't bother doing any kind of tests or anything, which really irritated me. I was just so glad it was over and I could finally feel my left side again. So did they give you something to take until they know for sure if that's what it is?
